Donald P. Lackey

Donald P. Lackey passed away.It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald P. Lackey Jr., who left us far too soon on May 7, 2025, at the age of 57. A devoted husband, a loving father, a cherished son and brother, and a friend to many, Donald’s warmth, humor, and generous spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea Lackey; his three daughters, Desiree McClain, Ashley Lackey, and Kirsten Lackey; his mother, Frances Lackey; his father Donald P Lackey; his brother, Dean Lackey. He also leaves behind many dear friends, golfing partners, coworkers turned friends, and extended family members who will miss him deeply.

Donald was the beloved husband of 29 years to his wife, Andrea, and the proud father of three daughters— Desiree, Ashley and Kirsten. Donald is known for his charismatic demeanor, was easy to get along with, and earned unwavering loyalty. Donald built lasting friendships wherever he went. Whether sharing a laugh, lending a hand, or simply listening and guiding others by providing a level headed perspective. He made everyone around him feel glad to have the opportunity to know him.

A passionate and skilled golfer, Donald found peace and happiness on the golf course, where his love for the game was matched only by the friendships it brought him. He was an avid player who very rarely missed a tee time and believed in the power of a good next shot. He was one of the few to have a hole-in-one and he was fortunate and had multiple hole-in-ones (including one where he won a car, and another that counted as a hole-in-three, plus a few more).

Donald’s passing leaves a hole in our hearts, but his legacy of love, laughter, and quiet strength lives on in the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
