George was preceded in death by his wife Jane Kimber of 41 years and April Kimber of 20 years; his brother Jackie; and his parents, Rose and John Kimber.
George enjoyed his time with family most of all. When he wasn’t spending time with them, he loved working in the yard with his plants and fruit trees. He also enjoyed photography and developed his own pictures in a darkroom he built in the backyard. George came from a family that loved creating things. His grandfather invented the Kimberkork in 1929, a bottle stopper. George loved building miniature furniture with Jane and once made small crosses for each church member using wood from the lectern when the church was first built.
George served in the Army from 1956 to 1958 and was fully discharged in 1962. He later earned his master’s degree in teaching and taught Special Education for 43 years in the Modesto area. He and his family attended Geneva Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. He faithfully attended bible studies and church camps from childhood on and served as a camp counselor in his younger years.
In his last few years, George was very active and involved in every activity at his home at Summerset Assisted Living in Lincoln, California. He flourished after moving there and truly learned how to play and have fun. He enjoyed many new games and hobbies, including Kings in the Corner, Corn Hole, Bingo, painting, and attending every music event.
George was known and loved by all for being kind, helpful, patient, and faithful.
