After he retired, he volunteered for the Salvation Army in Roseville. he would help build and repair things and help feed people until he could no longer physically do it.
He also volunteered for the Placer County Sheriff's Reserve to help with traffic control with different events in Loomis. he did this with his good friend, Mac Tujimoto. he really enjoyed doing this.
Dad and Mom were married many years and enjoyed their family. Dad loved her to the end.
He grew up during the Depression and truly enjoyed and loved the simple things of life. he was a very practical man. Dad loved to garden and we all enjoyed his bountiful vegetables and fruit from his trees. His sweet corn, red potatoes, tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers, grapes and pumpkins for his grandkids and of course, his barbecued chicken were all our special treats.
Dad loved his family and always wanted to take care of us. Up until about 4 years ago he still raised beef for all of us. Grandpa loved to show all the Grandkids his steers. We had many a rodeo with just bought steers from the Rockville Auction when we would help to give shots to wild steers or castrate young bulls. He a strong love for animals.
