Born on October 8, 1932, in Iron Mountain, Michigan, Jean was raised in a loving family in a house built by her father Peter Thorsen. She married her Kingsford High school sweetheart Joseph Brouillette, and together they built a life and family in California.
A lifelong first and second grade teacher, she taught generations of children to read and was cherished by students, parents, and colleagues alike as a caring, enthusiastic educator. She was equally devoted to her church and her faith. She loved to play music and sing, bake treats for family holidays, and travel and explore the world around her. She will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, strength, and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her older sisters and brother, her beloved husband Joseph, daughters Renee and Denise, and grandson Justin. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Anne; her son, Joe; and many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her family is eternally grateful for the caregivers and friends who provided support for their dear mother during her final days. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
