Julie Tarango was born in Spring Lake New Jersey on March 27th, 1931. Only daughter of Joseph and Nellie Crisp. She was raised in the depression era, and saw the aftermath of the Hindenburg explosion as a child.
Her first job was at a local diner, and later worked at a department store selling gloves. Julie also worked at See’s Candy and was an avid customer for all of her years! Always had a piece of See’s Candy handy to offer should you visit her! Julie also worked at Bank of America.
Julie was the mother of four children with her first husband, Ray Ahlers. Debra, JoAnn, Lois and David. She married Fred Tarango in the 70’s and gained four step children; Dan, Kip, Jackie, and Glen. Proud Grandmother of 20, Great Grandmother of 25, Great Great Grandmother of one. She was looking forward to the birth of two more Great Great Grandchildren this year. She loved being with her family, especially the children and babies.
Interestingly, Julie had several nickname’s starting with “Grandma Sweety Pie”, and then “Little Trooper”, and recently “Food Critic” was added.
Julie passed on July 14th, 2023 at the age of 92.
