Juree E. Meek

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Guy Joe Meek, her parents William Daugherty and Myrtle Gibson Daugherty, brother R.L. Daugherty and his wife Ruby Nell: and sister Zelda Miller. Juree is survived by her sons Ron Meek and his wife Sondra of Roseville, CA and Scott Meek and his wife Donna Mae of Sparks, NV: brother Hershell Daugherty, Sr. and his wife Deloris of Newcastle, CA: Leland Miller of Lamesa, Texas: 4 Grandchildren: 6 great-grandchildren: any many beloved nephews, nieces and cousins.

Juree was born October 5, 1919 in Alma, Clark County, OK. Juree married Guy Meek on October 12, 1940 in Hollis, OK. They moved to Penryn, CA in 1947.

Juree was a loving and devoted mother and homemaker. She worked seasonal jobs in the Penryn fruit sheds before working at Roseville Hospital as a housekeeper for 15 years. Juree enjoyed spending time with family and friends and traveling in their motor home.

4-7 PM at Lambert Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd., Roseville, CA 95678. The funeral service will be at 11 AM, Tuesday, March 1, 2011. The interment will be at Newcastle Cemetery , 850 Taylor Road, Newcastle, CA 95658. Reception immediately following the burial will be at the Portuguese Hall located next to the cemetery.
