

Leonard “Jake” Hilmar Jacobsen
Age 91 passed away on November 8th 2021 of Aspiration Pneumonia at Kaiser Roseville Hospital, Roseville CA.
Jake was born 12/01/1929, in Everett Washington the son of Thorolf J. & Selma Mary Viland Jacobsen. He graduated from High School class of 1948. Following graduation he earned his Bachelor’s in Education in 1963 from Western Washington University. He went on to further his education and earned a Masters in education in 1970 from the University of Washington. Jake was a teacher and a media specialist for 13 years. He left teaching for a career in carpentry, where he spent the rest of his life building homes.
Jake was married to his first wife Madge Stilwell for 17 years with whom he had two sons. They divorced and in 1991 married Francey Thorson who had four children. They lived in many homes that they built and sold throughout their 32 years together, then settled down in a home they remodeled in Orangevale CA.
He was a lifetime member of the Elks.
Jake was full of life and energy and always on the go. He enjoyed building houses and furniture. When he wasn’t building something he liked walking, going to the mall, eating at buffets, dancing, traveling, going to concerts, playing bingo and watching Molly B’s Polka Party or Lawrence Welk. And of course don’t forget eating maple donuts!
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Hazel and son, Paul.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Francey, son, David Jacobsen & wife Kathy, his granddaughter, Traci Underhill & husband Don and their two sons, Jack and Riley.
Stepchildren, GaryThorson & wife Cheri, Pat Thorson & wife Sherri, Renee Mayo & husband Skip, Brenda Songer & husband Troy. 7 Grandchildren, 9 Great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins
