

Louis Gerald Emert, 96, of Sacramento, CA, passed away on June 13, 2021, after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving wife and children.
He was born to Thomas Ray and Lillie Wyatt Emert, on September 26, 1924, in Greenforest, Arkansas, and raised in Galena, Missouri. Louis graduated from Washburn Highschool and joined the Navy Airforce serving his country during World War II. After his military service, Louis settled into a career as an aircraft electrician at McClellan Air Force Base before retiring.
Louis married Mary Catherine, the love of his life in 1959, who survives him. He is also survived by his daughter, Sandra Emert Chamberlin and husband Dean, his son Steven Louis Emert and wife Becky, his daughter Darla Joann Leal and husband Donald, and son Daniel Ray Emert, as well as grandchildren, Eli Benfield and wife Hayley, Hope Benfield and husband Tyler, and Julian Emert, and great-grandchildren Hannah Emert, Adeline Emert, and Callan Benfield. He is also survived by his niece, Geraldine Emert Taylor.
Louis had a passion for fishing, bow hunting, and camping where he enjoyed the great outdoors with family and friends. His love for archery inspired him to become a bow and arrow manufacturer which became a small family business. His custom products were distributed to local schools and colleges for several years. He and Cathy would often share weekends at the local archery shops and gun shows picking up personal treasures. Louis also enjoyed photography, music and playing guitar, reading, and operating a ham radio. He was a devout Christian and spiritual leader sharing his love for the Lord with his family. He was a devoted husband and father who believed in raising his kids to be self-sufficient. On any given day, he got the family involved in auto repairs, home updates, and gardening. He was really a man of all trades and will be dearly missed.
Louis was a Life Member of the National Rifle Association and Bow Hunter’s Association.
A memorial service will be held on June 28th, 2021, at 10 a.m. at the Lambert’s Funeral Home in Roseville, with burial to follow at the Rocklin Cemetery. The
family requests any memorial donations be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society.
