On June 18, 2026, while surrounded by family, our beloved wife and mother, Marilyn Ann Rhoden, known lovingly as “Mimi” by her family, went to be with her Savior. She was born on Sept 28, 1950, to James and Camille Echeveria in Salinas, California.
Marilyn was the eldest of 10 children, and a loving supportive role model to all her siblings.
Marilyn was rooted in her Christian faith and began each morning with prayer, Bible and devotional readings. She was a true warrior in her long battle with cancer. Like Job, she never lost faith and always looked forward with hope.
She graduated from both Sacred Heart and Notre Dame in Salinas. While attending Hartnell College, she met her beloved soulmate, Steve Rhoden. Blessed to have found each other, they married in 1971 and shared a beautiful, love-filled life while cherishing their two children, Amy and Steven.
Marilyn began a lifelong banking career at Valley National Bank in Salinas. After moving her family to Roseville, California in 1978, she paused the career she loved for a few years to be home while her adored children were young. When resuming banking, she was repeatedly recognized for excellence. Marilyn was recruited as part of the original staff of Bank of Sacramento and was selected again to open each new branch. She genuinely loved people and knew each customer, their work or business, and cared enough to know their families as well. Throughout her 40 plus year career she was extremely proud of her record of perfect audits and retired from Banner Bank in Rocklin.
Her greatest joy was her family. She loved holidays and decorated for every occasion, large or small. Known for her festivities, family and friends looked forward to every celebration, creating countless cherished memories at her holiday gatherings.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 55 years, Steve Rhoden; daughter, Amy Rhoden; son, Steve (Shaanon) Rhoden; grandchildren, Alex Sprock; Emalee (Darrel) Doll and great- grandchildren, Eloise and Everett Doll.
Preceded in passing by her parents, brother, James Echeveria Jr.; and sister, Jennifer Echeveria Taylor. She is also survived by siblings, Nancy (Paul) MacDonald, Jane Echeveria, Mike Echeveria, Sally (Jon) Echeveria-Rosati, Matt (Sara) Echeveria, Paul (Brenda) Echeveria, Julie Franco; her sisters- and brother-in law, Sandra Bauer, Pamela Walker, and Donald (Patty) Rhoden.
Numerous nieces and nephews will forever miss Aunt Mimi and her infectious laugh.
We all loved her dearly and will forever hold her in our hearts.
Funeral Services to be held July 11, 2026, at Lambert Funeral Home in Roseville.
