

Michael Code Philemon Sr. was born on September 26,1947 in Charlotte, North Carolina and passed away in his home on January 24, 2022 at the age of 74. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Crawford Leo and Flora Jean Philemon.
Michael and Patricia Kinsey married in a small ceremony surrounded by family and friends on December 14,1969 after his honorable service in the U.S.Army where he served in the Vietnam war. Together, in their 51 years of marriage, they shared many exciting adventures including relocating their small family from North Carolina to California in 1986. He was a loving and devoted partner and their union was one to be admired.
To know Michael, you knew that he took the most pride in his family. He was number 5 of 6 successful and hardworking siblings Ed (Betty), Arnold (Tish), Bruce (Charlotte), Sue ( Larry) and Steve (Sherrie).
In 1973, Michael and Patricia welcomed a son, Michael Code Jr. ( Gabby), and a few short years later in 1976, a beautiful daughter Marcia Ann (Brian). Michael would light up whenever talking about his children. He was a proud hardworking father and his work ethic, honesty, caring nature are some of the best qualities he passed on to his children. One of the biggest roles in life was being a joyous and active Papa to all his extraordinary grandkids Marcela, Tre Dylan, Bella, Haley, Ryland and Brea. Michael adored his grandchildren and they loved him as well.
Michael was a pure artist and he loved playing and creating music with his band "Bluegrass Fever". His passion for creativity was evident as he rebuilt and restored countless fast cars and as a handyman, he could build anything from nothing. Michael spent over 20 years with the Roseville School District where his hard work and skilled hands led to his retirement in 2012 after a long and successful career. Michael loved to be outdoors and spending time in the yard with his grandchildren, golfing as much as possible and he also enjoyed fishing and trips to the casino. Listening and playing music was always a treat to anyone around him.
Michael Code Philemon will surely be missed. His legacy will always be remembered and will carry on through everyone that had the blessed opportunity to spend time with this remarkable man.
