

He is survived by his son, Manuel Stamas and wife Haido; seven grandchildren, Mary I, Pete I, Gus, Mary D, Peter S, George, Anna and one great-grandson, Vasili; four brothers and sisters, Ellen, Gus, Katherine, and Paul; his daughter-in-law, Yiota; he also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Anagnos Stamas; their son, Sam; one brother, George, and one sister, Mary.
Peter attended Roseville High School and worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad until he volunteered to serve in the Air Force. He and the love of his life, Mary, married on September 10, 1947. Together they acquired the Roseville Laundry on Riverside Ave from his parents and ran the business for 55 years. Even after retirement, Peter continued to play an active role in the family business, now operated by his son, Manuel.
Peter and his wife Mary enjoyed vacationing with friends and family. He was also a Greek dancer and passed this talent on to his children and grandchildren, all of whom he loved very much.
Peter was a member of the Linda Creek congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, and actively preached to neighbors and others about the truths he learned in the Bible.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lambert Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Lambert Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Remembrances in his name can be mailed to the Kingdom Hall, 400 6th Street, Roseville, CA 95678. Interment is private.
