

Bob leaves behind his daughter Kathy Schneider, son-in-law Jerry Hicks and precious granddaughter Ashley Hicks. Son Dan Schneider and daughter-in-law Cindy. Former wife and mother of his children Delores Cascarano Schneider. Half sister Paula Busch Nelson and brother-in-law Chuck, the love of his life, his companion and best friend, Jean James. And many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife and soul mate Louise, they shared thirty five years of love laughter and togetherness, his parents Agnes and Les Schneider and his natural father Paul Busch.
Bob and his family moved to Sacramento in 1943. He attended local public schools and graduated from C.K. McClatchy High School , Sacramento Junior College and Sacramento State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
Bob volunteered for military service during the Korean War. He enlisted in in the U.S. Navy in 1950 and was honorably discharged in 1954. He was an aviation machinist mate/ petty officer second class. Bob served the majority of his shore duty at the United States Naval Air Missile Test Center, Point Mugu, Calif. His sea duty was served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Rendova CVE 114, operating with Carrier Division 15 in the Formosa Straits and the Sea of Japan, patrolling the waters around Korea. For his US Navy service he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Medal and the Republic of Korea Service Medal. He was a proud life member of the Escort Carrier Sailors and Airmen Association and the Roseville Sun City Veterans Club.
He was a 30 year employee of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District and retired in 1987 as Supervisor of the Community Affairs Division. He served for many years as Executive Secretary Treasurer of the Sacramento Valley Electric League. After retiring from SMUD he served for 12 years as treasurer of the SMUD Retirees Organization.
Bob and Louise loved to travel. They enjoyed many cruises, visited over thirty countries and most of the fifty states.
He was a neighborhood activist and former member of the Board of Directors of the Sierra Curtis Neighborhood Association. He and his wife Louise spent years restoring their Victorian home in Sacramento's Curtis Park. He was a handyman that could build or fix almost anything.
Bob had a passion for antique and classic cars. He was the proud owner of a 1922 Willis-Knight touring car and a 1957 Ford Thunderbird. He was a long time member of the Horseless Carriage Club of America, and Classic Thunderbird Club International.
Bob was an antique dealer for many years and enjoyed participating in many local antique shows. He loved collecting and antiquing and could be found scouring the local flea markets and estate sales for unique items to collect and lovingly restore - some for resale and some for his own collection.
Bob and Louise moved to Sun City Roseville in 1996. He was a member of the Sun City Citizens Patrol. He became an Emergency Room Volunteer when Kaiser Roseville Hospital first opened its doors in October 1998. He was an Emergency Room Volunteer Trainer and served on the Kaiser Permanente Volunteer Services Appropriation Committee. He was also a volunteer with the Roseville Police Department serving
with the Citizens on Patrol unit. As a patrol volunteer he assisted police officers deterring crime through increased visibility. He helped with parking enforcement, traffic control, special event management and vacation house checks. In 2012 he received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award in recognition of volunteering over 4000 hours of service to his community.
A "giver" in this world, it was not uncommon to see Bob helping a friend, a neighbor or a perfect stranger.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lambert Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd, Roseville, CA 95678, US, on June 24, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.
A burial is to follow at 11am at Roseville Cemetery, 421 Berry St, Roseville, CA 95678.
