Romelia Pulido Snyder, 59, affectionately known as “Romy” passed away unexpectedly on March 15, 2024 at her residence. She was born September 29, 1964, in Sacramento, California to Joseph and Mary (Pulido) Sanchez. Her departure comes as a great shock and is gravely felt by her entire family and countless others who loved her deeply.
Romy was a free spirit, she believed in flexibility and change. She valued loyalty, honesty, and authenticity. She believed that everyone needs a harmless outlet for stress, and hers were, cuddling an animal, deep conversations, a cigarette, an ice cold beer, reading a really good book, gardening in the sunshine or journaling her inner thoughts. She loved music and dancing to it. She was always planning her next concert to go to and who she would invite to go along with her.
Romy had a great sense of humor and a contagious giggle. Her wit was razor sharp and sometimes she would say things that would shock you, in hopes of helping you see a new or different perspective. She was kind, generous and compassionate. Even if she spoke in anger, she would be the first to feel bad or apologize and try and heal what was broken. She believed in autonomy and dignity and a person’s right to chose the life they want. She sometimes struggled with the concept of tough love and was fiercely independent and private. She loved her entire family, despite their quirks and disfunction. She worried about them, rooted for them, protected them, resented them, forgave them, and always kept on loving them.
When Romy became “Oma” it began a new chapter in her life. She had always talked about how she wished she had more time with them. To get to know them individually. She would light up every time a story of them was told or brought up. Her five grandchildren had become her pride and joy. She will be truly missed by all those she leaves behind.
Romy is predeceased by her father Joseph C. Sanchez, and the two loves of her life - Michael G. Snyder and Jeffrey Klieby
She is survived by her mother Mary L. Sanchez, children William J. Snyder, Mary A. (Ryan) Dube, and Steven W. Coker, grandchildren Michael K. Snyder, Jayda L. Dube, Amelia R. Dube, Willow G. Dube and Quentin W. Coker, her three sisters Cecelia (Ceci) Andrews, Rebecca (Becky) de la Garza, Esther Sanchez, several nieces and nephews, sister in-laws, aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends.
A memorial service for Romy will be held on April 19th at 12:00 pm at Lambert Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd, Roseville, CA 95678. A reception will be held in Lambert Funeral Home's reception room following the conclusion of the memorial service.
