Stephen Wright Sr.

Steve entered into rest on November 13, 2025 at age 83. He was born in 1941 in Oakland, CA.  He attended private schools in the Oakland area and graduated from St. Mary’s College High School in Berkeley, CA, in 1959. 

In 1960 he joined the United States Air Force, first serving in active duty including time in Vietnam, and ultimately transitioning into the reserves. He served many roles including as an accountant and loadmaster, retiring in 1989 at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. During this time, in 1974, he earned an Associate of Arts degree at Merritt College. 

In his civilian life he worked for Bigge in San Leandro, CA as an accountant and transitioned into the field of crane inspection and certification for Crane Certification Company.  He also worked with CranePro and wrapped up his career at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, retiring in 2007.  

Steve was married to Julie Wright for 46 years until her passing in 2020.  He is the father of Steve Jr. and Jennifer, and grandfather to Ben and Kate.  He is preceded in death by his father Clifford Wright, mother Ann DeDeaux and stepfather Melvin Jones.  He is survived by his children, and siblings Philip Jones, Peter Jones, Judy (Jones) Ferguson, Joubert Jones, Jeff Jones and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Lambert Funeral Home, located at 400 Douglas Blvd, Roseville, CA 95678, on December 2, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

A Mass will take place at St. Clare Catholic Church, located at 1950 Junction Blvd, Roseville, CA 95747, on December 3, 2025, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am.

The burial will occur at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, located at 5810 Midway Rd, Dixon, CA 95620, on December 4, 2025, from 1:15 pm to 2:00 pm.
