Steven Russell Allen

Steven Russell Allen, 69, of Roseville, CA, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 2, 2022, at Kaiser Hospital. Born Friday, January 2, 1953 in Gardena, CA, he was the son of the late James and Fern (Lieberson) Allen. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ivy (Cassel) Allen, and son James Allen of Roseville, California.

In addition, he is also survived by a brother, Kenneth Allen, of Cody, WY a sister, Wendy Allen, of Torrance, CA, a sister-in-law Diana Allen, of Cody, WY, mother-in-law Ingrid Glasco and father-in-law Laurence Glasco of Pittsburgh, PA, as well as many caring extended family members and friends. He is predeceased by his father-in-law Herbert Cassel of Fayetteville, PA.

A military veteran, Steven served with the US army from 1975 to 1978. An avid volleyball player, he played on the US Army Volleyball Team from 1976 to 1978, placing first and second in various championship events.

In addition to his time in the military, Steven worked in the photo finishing and equipment imaging industries for many years. He worked for some years in the Pittsburgh, PA area where he met his future wife Ivy. They dated for four and a half years and were married in February 1986 in a ceremony in Heinz Chapel at the University of Pittsburgh.

Steven was a lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing in the waters of northern California. He enjoyed swimming and playing tennis and racquetball at a local health club in Roseville. He also enjoyed taking his son James on fishing and camping trips. In his younger years, he enjoyed sailing the lakes and ocean on the east coast of the US in his Sunfish sailboat.

Steven was extremely devoted to his family and loved spending time with them. He was also a lover of animals and had many pets throughout his life, including pet dogs and pet birds. He will be greatly missed by his wife, son, brother, sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law and father-in-law and many extended family and friends.

A memorial service for Steven will be held Monday, November 21, 2022 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Lambert Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd., Roseville, CA 95678. A graveside service will be held, Monday, November 21, 2022 from 1:30 – 2:00 PM at Roseville Cemetery, 421 Berry St. Roseville, CA 95678.
