I just saw an entry on Facebook and am saddened to read the news. I was a high school friend from Chicago, and although I hadn't kept in touch in recent years, was still trying to keep up on her. I remember her aunt and uncle in Chicago that she lived with. My condolences to family.

I was trying to locate Val, today, and found this site. I am very saddened to read the news. I, too, had the good fortune to work for her and with her. Her passing is a tremendous loss. My sincere condolences to all of her family and friends.

My condolences to Valerie's family and friends. I worked with her at DMV when I was just beginning my managerial career. I will always remember her as the "What if..."lady and still find myself asking that question of others. She was a pleasure to work with and very knowledgable.

I am sad to hear of Val's passing. I worked with Val at DMV. She had a beautiful smile and was always so nice. I missed her when she left the department. Rest peacefully Val...

So many of the old guard from the Controller's office have passed on. Valerie and the others impacted the lives of many people during their long tenure.
