Bernard Tuley Woods

Born in Pine Knot, Kentucky, Bernard spent his youth moving across various towns in Kentucky and Tennessee before his family settled in Michigan.

He graduated from Fitzgerald High School in Warren, Michigan, with the Class of 1962. Following graduation, Bernard dedicated his professional life to precision workmanship, enjoying a long and successful career as a skilled tool and die maker.

Known affectionately by his family as "Tuley," his childhood was defined by a legendary bond with his cousin and lifelong best friend, Les Woods. He was an avid competitor who loved playing euchre, cribbage, backgammon, and tossing horseshoes. His rhythm extended to the dance floor, where he spent many joyful evenings square dancing, and in the great outdoors, where he loved camping under the stars. Bernie also possessed a famous sweet tooth, never turning down a scoop of his favorite ice cream.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bernie’s memory to the St. Clair Shores Senior Center, a place that mirrors his love for community, games, and fellowship.
