Betty Lou Sandor

January 4, 1936September 5, 2021

Under the loving care of daughter Caroline, Betty Lou Sandor (nee Reed) passed away peacefully at her home in Roseville on September 5, 2021.

Betty was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on January 4, 1936. She graduated from New Castle High School at age 16, and on January 10, 1953 she married Martin Carl Sandor (d) in Cleveland, Ohio. The young couple moved around for several years before settling in Roseville in 1964, where Betty worked for many years as a secretary/office manager for a small electrical contractor. As well as being a skilled typist and accountant, she was instrumental in keeping the office running smoothly. She was also a long-time member of the Warren VFW and the Roseville Eagles where she made many life-long friends. Betty was a member of the Lutheran church, her most recent congregation being Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Roseville.

Betty loved to cook and often hosted her extended family for holidays and other gatherings. Her baked goods were favorites and she often made personalized treats to mark special occasions. She also loved to socialize, and especially liked to spend time with her tight-knit siblings. In her spare time, she loved to sew, read and do puzzles. She never failed to acknowledge a loved one's birthday or anniversary, even in her later years as her health diminished.

Betty was predeceased by both parents, Claire Reed and Palma (Santangelo) Reed. She is survived by her four siblings - Carl (Margaret), Jean (Charlie, d), Carol (Ralph) and Clyde (Susan); three children - David (Mary Zins), Caroline and Matthew (Sandy); and two grandchildren - Jeremy (Anaya) and Melissa.

She will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Avenue, Roseville, MI.
