Carol Sue Wheatley, age 77, a Warren resident and graduate of Wayne State University, passed away on June 10, 2020. Carol was born in Kingsport, Tennessee and moved to Detroit as a teenager, attending Southeastern High School. She enjoyed singing hymns, playing the piano, gardening, and reading. She was a faithful member of Manoah Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years and served as its director of music, pianist, and Sunday school teacher. She was an active member, president and treasurer of the Macomb County Ostomy Association for 20 years. She also worked as a substitute teacher for the Detroit and Fraser School Districts, taught piano lessons, and was a bank teller for First Federal Bank.
She was the beloved wife of Wayne Wheatley for 56 years. Loving mother of Dayna Wheatley, Susan Reising, Christa Belcher, Wayne J. Wheatley, and Joanne Pierce. Cherished “Meemaw” to 15 grandchildren. Dearest sister of Verleen Honeycutt. Carol is predeceased by her parents, Verlon Summers and Eileen Wobig. Visitation will be Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 10:00am until time 2:00pm at Kaul Funeral Home in Roseville. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 27, 2020 following the visitation at the funeral home, the service will be held at 2:30pm at Mr. Wayne Wheatley's home, the address is 28620 Palomino Drive, Warren, MI 48093.
