Donald F. Bliss Sr.

Donald F. Bliss, Sr. 76, passed away August 22, 2014 at his Eastpointe home surrounded by his loving family. Don was born on February 8, 1938 in Baseline (now Warren), Michigan as the only child to Donald and Edith (nee: Waldo) Bliss.

Don liked sports, playing darts, computer games, reading. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Concordia College, Ann Arbor, Michigan. In his early career, Don worked in production with his father at J & L Steel. Later he worked for Oakland County as a Law Librarian, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the St. Andrews Society in Detroit and formerly a member of F. & A.M. Among other things in Don’s background was membership in the Detroit Police Reserves and a Bail Bondsman.

Don is survived by his wife of ten years, Amy P. (nee: Alexander). Children: Linda Susan (Larry) Smith, Janette M. Cavender, Donald Bliss, Jr., Edward Clayton (Jackie) Bliss, Samantha (Robert) Clemens and Sarah Clemens. Ten Grandchildren, five great-grandchildren also survive. His faithful canine companion Roy met Don in heaven just 2 days after Don passed. Friends may visit on Wednesday – August 27, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Noon at Kaul Funeral Home – 27830 Gratiot Avenue, Roseville.
