Doris Lienau, affectionately known as “Aunt Doe,” passed away peacefully on her 71st birthday, August 18, 2025. A lifelong Michigander, Doris was born in Detroit on August 18, 1954 and raised in Warren, where she grew up surrounded by family, music, and the values that shaped her kind and generous heart.
She retired from Chrysler after 30 years of dedicated service as a press operator—a career that reflected her strong work ethic and resilience. Doris was proud of her work, but even more proud of the people she loved and the life she built.
Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tim Lienau, in 1987. Though their time together was far too short, their love remained an enduring part of her life.
A devoted aunt, Doris had a special bond with her nieces and nephews, whom she adored and spoiled every chance she had. She was kind, lovable, and always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. Her joyful spirit and warm presence made her a beloved figure to many.
Doris had a deep love for music—especially Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, and the sounds of Motown. She loved to travel, with the Bahamas and Hawaii holding a special place in her heart, and she embraced every new adventure with curiosity and joy.
A woman of faith, Doris was a longtime parishioner of Holy Innocents Catholic Church and a member of the Secord Lake Eagles 4121 in Gladwin, Michigan, where she built lasting friendships and shared many cherished memories.
Doris will be remembered for her big heart, her generous spirit, and the love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, family, laughter, and strength that will never be forgotten.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Renee Lienau; siblings: Carol (Charlie) DeSchutter, Mary (the late William) Beck, John Z, and Patty (John) Arnold; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The family will greet guests from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm for a memorial visitation, with a rosary service at 7:00pm, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot, Roseville, Michigan. Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 28 at Holy Innocents St. Barnabas Church, 26100 Ridgemont St., Roseville. Memorial in state from 10:30 am until time of Mass. Inurnment following at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp.
