Francis Joseph Weiss, age 70, of Clinton Township, MI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 in Shelby Twp, MI. Francis was born May 28, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Joseph & Mary Ellen (Boyle) Weiss.
Francis is survived by his son Francis J. Weiss, Jr. (Amy Weiss) and grandson Francis J. Weiss III, his daughter Angela M. Kaptur (Thomas Kaptur) and grandchildren Marissa A. Ostrowski and Ryan J. Ostrowski, Brother Joseph Weiss, Sisters Maryanne Torres, Kathleen Hazuka, Patricia Shipley-Fisher and Maureen Mendes as well as his Brothers and Sisters in Law (Paul, Luis, Mary Jane and Loretta), many loving Nieces and Nephews, extended family and loyal, caring Friends. Francis is predeceased by his Wife, MaryAnne (Wrasse) Weiss (1948-2022) and his Brother, Patrick Weiss (1959-2001) and Brother in Law William Wrasse (1953-2019).
Francis attended Assumption Grotto Grade School and Nativity High School (’69,’70,’71) and graduated from Bishop Gallagher in 1972.
Francis enjoyed spending time with family, watching many sunsets with his wife MaryAnne, traveling to California, Key West Florida, Nevada but especially to Indian River and Burt Lake, watching Football, Basketball and Nascar races. Francis was an avid follower of News stations and reading the Newspaper cover to cover. Francis owned many businesses including the popular Nightclub Ody’s in Berkley, MI and deeply appreciated Live Music especially Oldies.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 3-8PM at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave, Roseville, MI 48066. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, August 9,2024 at 10:00AM, 9:30AM Instate at Assumption Grotto Church, 13770 Gratiot Ave, Detroit, MI 48205. Burial to Follow Services at Assumption Grotto Cemetery.
