Gerald Roger Dishman - Age 81 of Warren, MI passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at his home. Roger was born on June 8, 1938 in Jackhorn, KY to Clarence and Ella (Kilgore) Dishman. Roger served three years in the United States Army, in the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell, KY and retired from Chrysler Sterling Stamping after 33 years, 3 months, and 3 days.
Roger was a member of the UAW 1264, the NRA, the SAR, and the 101st Airborne Division Association. In his spare time, Roger enjoyed gardening, traveling, listening to all kinds of music, visiting friends and family, football, baseball, and the Civil War.
Roger is survived by his wife, Nancy (Seegert), daughters Kimberly (Richard) Demastes of Gaylord, Wendy Meeks of Centerline, and son Richard Lupu of Wilmington, OH. His grandchildren Richard (Melissa) Lupu III of Wilmington, OH, Crystal (Alan) Jackson of Elmira, Steven (Jessica) Lupu of Marysville, Tim (Leslie) Lupu of Edmond, OK, Jason Douglas of Elmira, Tim (Samantha) Douglas of Macomb, Megan (Justin) Lake of Lexington, KY, Alexandria Plociniak of Centerline, Leon Sokolowski IV of Gaylord, special granddaughter, Karen DeWalls, who helped to care for Roger, along with her siblings and, over twenty great grandchildren. His brother Clarence "Sonny" Dishman of Madison Heights, sister Patty Sue Defalco of Madison Heights, and nieces and nephews.
Pre-deceased are his daughter Carolyn Douglas, sister Anna Katherine Pierce, brother Johnny Dishman, and sister-in-law, Brenda Dishman. Also preceding him in death, his parents and grandparents, John M. and Vergie Catherine (Gibson) Dishman, and Morgan T. and Laura (Bond) Kilgore.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until time of service with the burial to follow at Christian Memorial Cultural Center, in Rochester Hills, MI.
