

Isabell A. Novak, age 92, of Roseville, Michigan, passed away on August 17, 2015 peacefully in her home. Born in Detroit on November 30, 1922, to Isabell (nee Stark) and Louis Chester Asselin. She attended St. Mary’s Hospital Nursing School, graduating in 1945, and remained committed to nursing through volunteer activities with the American Cancer Society. A devout Catholic, Isabell was an active member of St. Athanasius Parish (now known as St. Pio of Pietrelcina), where she served as a Eucharistic minister to homebound and senior residents of Fraser Woods and with the counting group. She was affiliated with St. Joseph’s Guild. She was married to her beloved husband, Robert J. Novak, on April 3, 1948, who was devoted to her for 67 years. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Marian A. Gust, her brothers Louis, Bernard Chester and Joseph Asselin, her brother-in-law John Gust and sister-in-law, Florence Asselin. She is survived by her husband Robert, four daughters Christine, Rita, Marian and Cindy Novak, sister-in-law Erma Boucher, many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and faithful friends. Visitation Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home 27830 Gratiot Avenue, Roseville, MI. Visitation will continue Thursday, at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pio of Pietrelcina , 18720 Thirteen Mile Rd. Roseville.
