Lewis Redman, age 66 of Harrison Township Michigan passed away on November 19, 2013. Loving husband to Kim, father to Cory, stepfather to Dan, Bill, Chaundra (Shawn), Tony (Daryl), Cindy (Tom). Wonderful grandfather to Brendan, Chloe, Nicholas and Evan. Brother-in-law to Krissy and Frank. Preceded in death by his mother, Lenore and father, Aloysius.
Lewis served in the United States Navy from 1966 through 1972. After completing his service in the Navy, using his love of Graphic Arts he began his own Sign Company. In 1987 he launched his own Graphic Arts Trade School to teach displaced GM skilled trade workers and help them begin a new career path in Graphic Art.
In December of 1990 Lewis and his wife Kim, began their journey as Managers of Eastwood Village Apartments in Clinton Township Michigan. Lewis was know as the "Cruise Director" of fun. He formed the Resident Activity Committee and during his time there he started the horseshoe league, chili cook off, pig roast, car wash fundraisers, Christmas balcony decorating contest, along with countless pool parties.
He was also a trustee at the Elks club in Mt. Clemens and oversaw the complete remodeling of the inside of the facility.
In 2003 his love of graphic art began calling again. He went on to design and create a line of over 50 custom designed computer graphic drawings of Pin-up girls for Zippo Lighters.
He also bought himself a 2006 Black Charger that he loved, which his wife rightfully named the "Bat Mobile."
In 2011 he retired from Paragon Property Management Company after 21 years of service. Lewis and Kim purchased their dream condo on the Clinton river which they completely gutted and remodeled into a beautiful home. Lewis being the man we all know and love could not retire quietly. He became the VP of the condo association and began to initiate improvements of the property.
After all of the work was completed they joined the Eagles club of Harrison Township right across the river from their condo and they bought a boat to spend their summers cruising up and down the river. At the end of day Lewis was the happiest with family, friends and sitting on his deck with his wife Kim and a cocktail.
A private family memorial service will be held.
