Linda Diana Ward

Linda Diana Ward (nee: Barker) passed away on December 26, 2014 after suffering a long battle with asthma. Linda was born in Highland Park, Michigan on September 18, 1955 to John Frederic Barker and Diane Delores Martin. She is survived by her husband, James Roy Ward (whom she married in Roseville, Michigan on October 3, 1984); sons, Thomas J. (Sara) Ward, Kevin P. Ward and Shawn M. Ward; twin granddaughters Madison and Tessa; mother Diane MacInnis; brothers, John (Trisha) Barker and Joseph Barker; sisters, Cheryl (Bob) Ayotte and Sandra (Carlos) Mendez. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a lot of friends also survive. Linda was preceded in death by her father, John Barker and step-father Roy Allen MacInnis. Linda was a manager at many McDonald's and Subway stores as well as worked at ACO Hardware. In 1969 Linda received a "Hero's Award" for saving a seven-year-old boy from drowning even though she could not swim. "She will be missed by all who knew her, she was 'Our Hero'" her husband said.
