Lucia Santiago Faraon (aka “Nanay”) was the beloved matriarch of the Faraon family. She dedicated her life to the care of her family and seized every chance to celebrate milestones and holidays with her ten children, 23 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. She was married to the late Francisco Faraon Sr. (aka “Tatay”) for 62 years.
She was an amazing cook of numerous Filipino dishes and always prepared to nourish family and friends that came to visit her home. She had this amazing memory and could tell you every family member's birthday and anniversary. She has been the heart of our family and always found a way to bring us together. Her endless love and spirit will live on throughout her entire family. Nanay will forever be missed in our hearts.
During her lifetime, she and Tatay taught and guided their children and paved a path to their future careers. She was a creative seamstress and also enjoyed spending time with family, family road trips, cooking, watching The Filipino Channel (TFC) & Shirley Temple movies, and keeping her mind sharp by playing penny slots at casinos.
Lucia’s soul transitioned on May 24th at Lee Memorial Hospital in Cape Coral, Florida at the age of 95 years old. She died as she had lived, surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her children, Lucita (the late Jaime), Crescensio (Cleo), Francisco Jr. (Corazon), Teresita, Fermin, Josefina (Boy), Maria Luisa, Lourdes (Eugene), Carlos (May), Anthony, her grandchildren, the late Jocelyn, Chris (Angela), Joselito, Jonathan (Becky), Eric, Jay (Cindy), Maria Beatriz, Dennis, Michelle (Pala), Maritess, Jennifer (Mario), Sheryll, Lora Melissa (Andrew), Khristine (Fernando), Carl Matthew, Jessica, Angelica (Brad), Kristia, Katalina, Jordan, Carl, Julian, Isiah, her great grandchildren Ernie, Mario, Jasmin, Mikayla, Ellana, AJ, Joel, Gabriela, Ethan, Bianca, Marissa, Isabel, Joey, Aydin, Austin, Brandon, Nixon, and Greyson, and adoring nieces, nephews, Godchildren and relatives.
