I am so sorry for your great loss, Suzy, Geri + Laura.  I just spoke to my mom and heard the news.  I surely appreciate Suzy sending a funeral card for me.  It has been a long time since I've seen your parents, but their influence on my life has always been felt, in the most positive ways.   They both will remain in my heart always, as warm, generous. loving people whom I was so lucky to have in my life, from the start.  I cherish my memories of all you Ilardos from the Pattow days!  My heart is heavy, though I know Marie and Joe both lived full, glorious lives, in large part due to their loving daughters and your families.  Much love being sent your ways, ladies. My wife and I lived next door to Joe and Marie for several years and we loved to see the love that they shared . She was always Mrs Ilardo to me and I too looked forward to her cards and the little messages that she wrote. I send the family my deepest sympathy. What a wonderful family you are and how lucky you all are to be the result of such a beautiful relationship..

Mrs. Ilardo (always had a hard time calling her Marie, even as I hit my 50's) and of course Papa Joe, were the best neighbors anyone could ever ask for! Living next to them, they were our second family.  The memories are golden to me. I always looked forward to getting her cards in the mail. She will surely be missed by all. Laura, you and AnnMarie should be so proud for all you have done for your Mom and Dad in their final years here on Earth. Love you, Beverly DeGrandchamp 

While living in Sugarland, TX, we were invited to join some of the holiday day get-togethers with the Ilardos,  at Geri’s home.  Marie shared her kindness and gentleness without reserve.  She always made us feel welcome and at home, even though we were 1400 miles away from our  families during those holidays.  
~ Forever grateful.

I have such fond memories, today I am thinking of all the absolutely wonderful memories of life on Pattow and the closeness of all the families/children growing up on Pattow, we were one back then, Mrs. Ilardo and "Papa Joe" you both played such a big role in all of that, you will never be forgotten, such gratefulness to you and your family for just being the beautiful people the Lord called you to be. Thank You, respect and love to you.

It's like losing my Mother a second time.  The Ilardos have been a part of our family almost since my birth, and Marie was always my "Aunt" Marie, though at times she felt more like a second Mom.  This wonderful woman never forgot my birthday ... not once in 72 years.  Soft spoken and caring, she was alway concerned about the well being of others.  What a great teacher she must have been!  Rest in Peace Aunt Marie; we will all miss you. 

Mrs. Ilardo was such a sweet, kind person.  She always remembered holidays or birthdays by sending a card and they were much appreciated.  She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma and I know she will be missed very much.  May she rest in peace.

Mrs. Ilardo was my first grade teacher.   She was so nice and a great teacher.  My sympathies to the family, I wish you peace and comfort in this hard time.   (Geri and Laura, I remember you too)   Mary Callahan (now Sanscartier)

Marie was my mother-in law's sister. Though my family never met her, she always sent a card for every holiday, birthday and anniversary. They were such a sweet connection to her. She must have been a very special lady.I certainly wish I had met her. My family sends a message of love and peace to her family. She lived a long vital life, but I know she will be missed.

Marie I am  going to miss you. You were always patient and even temper  even after Sue had forced me to spill chili  on  your kitchen wall.

Such a beautiful lady inside and out....Lived across the street from them until the day I got married...I used to correct papers for her and she would pay me 10cents for each stack...That would buy me a Good Humor bar which was always a great ...Never heard her say a bad thing about anyone...RIP Mrs. Ilardo...You are once again with your husband Joe...
