Mark graduated from Carl Brablec High School in Roseville, in 1976. After High School he served in the United States Navy for 10 years, stationed in Japan, Morocco and the Philippines. He began working for Fed Ex as a courier, where he worked for 25+ years, he worked doubles every day, never complaining. His Fed Ex co-workers were like family to him, and remained important to him even after retiring in 2013.

He loved Sports, cold beer and going to the casino. However, nothing compared to how much he loved his family. He showed up to all family events ready to kick butt in bags. He was the guy who wore flip flops all year round, sang "Sweet Caroline" for his karaoke go-to and would help anyone at the drop of a dime.

He left a mark on everyone he met and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. We are so lucky to have had him for the time that we did, even though 100 years still would not have been enough. He was the glue that held the family together, and life will never be the same without his perfect smile.

His memory will live on forever, and we will always talk about how much "Poppi" loved each and every one of us. To express condolences to Mark's family please visit, www.kaulfuneralhome.com

My condolences, love and prayers for my good friend Mark and his entire family. I knew Mark from grade school and all the great memories we had. From Junior Red Wing games at Olympia to playing baseball on some great championship teams. One of Mark's fondest memories (not mine) was when I was embarking on a family trip and could not use my Red Wing season tickets 4 seats second row. I asked Mark if he wanted them and you know his answer: He'll Yes! Well that game happened to be the greatest Red Wing game ever: "The Fight" with Colorado Avalanche!!! The whole game is immortalized forever and that game was just one big brawl that never stopped. One thing for sure, if I couldn't go there was no one else than Mark Ward that I would want to take those tickets! We talked about that game every year sense. Love you Mark! Peace Always my friend!

To the Ward Family, I am saddened for your loss. I have such fond memories of the days and nights spent with your family at your home. Those life experiences have molded who I am today. I am very grateful for having you all and especially Mark as part of my journey. We shared many laughs. I can still see his smile. He is at peace now with God and the angles ,keeping an eye on us all. May God bless you and may you find peace during this sad time.

Oh, the fun times we had! Woolly Bullies is where We first met. Peggy was the social director and whether it was a good day or a horrific day she would dispatch to the whole gang that there would be a conference at the bar. The UIZ gang was the best and they adopted me even though I was PTK. So many fun weekends hanging out with the Ward clan! Cards,Spoons, hockey games , oh and Corey bringing Playboy centerfolds and wine coolers upstairs that he had hidden. Then the time we were partying(what else?) and we saw furniture and clothing coming from the sky. Actually Corey talked Marky into that stunt I’m sure! These are memories that I will hold close to my heart always. So a farewell cheer to my friend Mark .”This ones for you”.🍺

Michelle I can’t tell you how sorry I am for your terrible loss. Mark was such a bright light. I always said I didn’t know how he did it, worked harder and longer than anyone and never complained. He made it so much better for the rest of us. Always a smile no matter what. He was a real friend. God has a plan for him, he was one of the good ones. I’ll miss you my friend and remember you with the best memories. Love and prayers for the whole family.

While I have had the privilege to know and work with Mark, he was the funny, sandal wearing, hard working guy, who would do ANYTHING for anyone, These last few months have meant the most to me. With both of us having cancer we had great talks over the phone others through text messages; building each other up and cheering one another on. I will miss these chats. Ward family he loved you all unconditionally and was proud of each and everyone of you. I will miss Mark dearly but rejoice in knowing he his with our Lord and Savior. Praying for peace and comfort for the entire family sending my deepest condolences.

Mark was one of the hardest working, laidback, always doing doubles, and one of the coolest swing-drivers at FedEx. You will truly be missed by many, my friend. I have nothing but good thoughts of you as a former coworker. I pray that God will comfort your loved ones and that the memories of you keep them all in perfect peace.
