Maureen E. Mewton

Maureen E. Mewton, age 86, passed away February 27, 2012. We have lost a beautiful woman, a wonderful mother and a true lady. Maureen was a warm, loving, gentle soul; A woman of great faith who was loved by all who knew her. She was strong, wise and courageous. Though her life had more than its share of trials, she always had a ready smile and a warm hug. She loved music, dancing, literature and working in her flower gardens. Her family and her children were the most important things in her life. She was Mum to her seven children and Nannie to all of her grandchildren but she was also “Mom” to so many other families and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love in everyone she touched. Maureen was the beloved wife of the late Donald. Predeceased by Michael Valensky. Loving mother of Michael (Barbara) Valensky, Robert Valensky (Marlene), Dean Valensky (Kathie), Teresa (Sanford) Barry-Galinsky, Debra Valensky (Andrew), Cynthia (Nicholas) St. John, Laurie (Donald) Johnson. Step-mother of Keith (Rose), Karen (Bruce) Duff and Kris (Mary). Dear Nannie to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation Thursday from 3-9 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave., Roseville.
