Minnie Frances Dagher was born on April 25, 1922 in Highland Park Michigan. She died peacefully on November 9, 2016 at the Arbor Inn in Warren Michigan with family at her side. She was 94 years old. Minnie, Fran, Minnie Fran, Franny or any of a number of nicknames for which she was known grew up in the days when automobiles were a relatively new invention. She often told stories about how horses and buggies were still in wide use when she was a child. She lived her entire life in the Detroit Metro area.
She was a child during the Great Depression. She grew up and was educated in Highland Park Michigan. She graduated from Highland Park High School, and afterward worked as a Stenographer and a Telephone Switchboard Operator prior to getting married and having children. She was part of the World War II generation that simply got things done as necessary.
After the war ended she met and married Robert Ollis Reynolds. They were married August 10, 1945 and settled in the northwest area of Detroit, Michigan where they added three children to the family. They lived in the typical style of post war suburbanite American families. She was a Homemaker that hated germs and kept a clean house. She made clothes, knitted, hooked rugs and was always involved in some type of art or craft. She also loved house plants and cats. She had many enjoyable times with friends and neighbors in those days.
Her husband Robert died in 1968. After his death she suffered from health problems for several years. She eventually overcame her health problems, brushed up on her Stenographer skills that she constantly practiced throughout her life, and was able to go back to work. After much effort she obtained employment with the state of Michigan from which she eventually retired.
She taught her children Christian values and was an excellent example of the same. Her children credit her with being their solid rock of correct principles and correct living through the often tumultuous times of the 1960’s and 1970’s.
She is preceded in death by her parents Bulutfe (Charles) Dagher and Falfa Lee Dagher. A sister Mary Gullette. Her husband Robert Ollis Reynolds, and a granddaughter Jessica Marie Reynolds.
She is survived by her sister Linda Lee McDaniel, her brother Melvin Dagher, her daughter Barbara Kaye Kierzek, her sons Robert Abel Reynolds and Timothy Allan Reynolds; Seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and many Nieces and Nephews that love her dearly.
A Memorial service is planned for Saturday, November 19th, 2016 at 1:15pm at the Kaul Funeral Home 27830 Gratiot Ave. Roseville MI 48066. Memorial Visitation will be held prior to the services from 1-3 pm at the funeral home.
