Reathel L. Yorke (Mom), age 68, passed away on Wednesday June 2, 2021 at St. Johns Macomb Hospital in Warren. Reathel was born August 2, 1952 in Newberry South Carolina to Arnold Carver and Mamie (Bledsoe) Carver. Mom was a graduate of East Detroit High School in Eastpointe Michigan. She was married to the love of her life Royal Yorke on April, 26, 1975. She worked for a short time before making the decision to be a stay-at-home mom and raise her family. She was the proud mother of 1 daughter Anna Yorke and her 4 sons James Yorke, Richard Pendergast, Joseph Yorke and Jamie Yorke. Mom had the biggest heart and was always there for everyone, she didn’t judge and would never let anyone go without a place to say and food in your belly. Mom fostered kids and babysat all of the kids in the neighborhood, so many people just came to know her as mama Yorke. She was a Christian woman that loved God and believed in the goodness of everyone, she was too good for this world. She had the ability to just reach you in a deep and positive way and touch your heart. She was truly the most beautiful and loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Reathel is survived by her husband Royal, sons James, Richard, Joseph, and Jamie, daughter-in-law Jennifer as well as her brothers Kenny and Brian, sister-in-law’s Theresa, Sue, Sally, Trudy, Robin and many nieces, nephews and her Grandchildren Zackery, Jersey, Carter, Brianna, Aidan, and Damion who she loved with all her heart. Family, friends and all others whose lives Reathel touched are invited to Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave, Roseville, Mi 48066 on Monday from 2pm-8pm (service will be from 7pm-8pm) to reminisce, grieve, support each other and celebrate the wonderful life of our amazing mother.
