Born on September 6, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, Dick was the son of Richard Leroy and Catherine Florence (née Murphy) Graham. He was raised in Detroit, where he graduated from high school before beginning a lifetime of hard work.
Throughout his career, Dick held a variety of positions, including working in a Detroit brickyard, at the Chrysler plant on Jefferson Avenue, and later as a driver for the Heatex radiator company, where he remained until his retirement.
Dick found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed watching movies, reading, taking walks, and watching football—especially cheering on the Detroit Lions. He also always had a fish tank in his home and enjoyed caring for his tropical fish. In his younger years, Dick was a talented piano player, sharing his gift of music with those around him. He also held a quiet faith in God that remained with him throughout his life. A simple man at heart, Dick lived life on his own terms and was content in the path he chose.
Dick is lovingly remembered by his children, Faith (Merkouri) Kanatzidis and Tina Bowman, and his grandchildren, Gregori Kanatzidis and Evangelos Kanatzidis.
Funeral services will be held privately.
