Richard Roger "Rich" Redmond Jr., age 42 of Roseville, Michigan, died October 29, 2025. A private memorial service will be held, and arrangements were made by Kaul Funeral Home, Roseville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or directly to the family for that purpose.
Rich was born March 9, 1984, in Mt Clemens, Michigan, the beloved son of Richard and Vanessa (Shannon) Redmond. He was a 2002 graduate of Roseville High School and was a CNC Machinist for 20 years, most recently practicing his craft at Diamond Racing Pistons in Clinton Township. He was married to his wife, Gail Ann (Gregory) Pillsbury, by a fat Elvis on October 29, 2014, at a public park under a pavillion they did not rent, accompanied by the song "A Little Less Conversation." And that pretty much captures the essence of their lives together.
He had been an avid hunter and fisherman, a drag racing and boxing fan, a cigar enthusiast, loved to sun his bits on Florida beaches, and was a huge Tom Petty fan, but recently had really found "his people" in the jam band community. He loved Dave Matthews and the Dead, but Billy Strings captured his heart and soul. He and his wife travelled to seven states to catch performances 22 times in the past two years, with a lifetime more planned. Music was his life. He was the kindest, most genuine and honest man you could ever hope to call a friend.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Gail; children, Hailee (and her parents, Tyler and Angela Hull), Miranda (and husband Christian) Metro, and Andrew Pillsbury; his favorite person in the whole wide world, granddaughter, Caroline Metro; brother, Joseph; step-dad, Bill Bidoul; close cousins, Michelle Steinhabel, Ryan Redmond, and Steven Redmond; many other cousins, aunts, uncles; grandmother, Rosemary Shannon; and kitties and chicky-girls; Church, Biscuit, Woodford, Smyrna, and Lucie. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandfather, James Shannon.
Your 'pillar food will love and miss you forever, sweet man.
