Robert J. “Gilly” Gielniak, 82, of Warren passed away January 21, 2013. Mr. Gielniak was a Korean War Army Veteran, Purple Heart recipient and a retired Letter Carrier from the St. Clair Shores Post Office. “Gilly” wrote an article for the carriers union newsletter. He is survived by his children, Michele (Al) Hostetler, Robert (Diane) Gielniak, Susan (James) Pineau and Mark Gielniak. Eight grandchildren: Tom Hostetler, Al Hostetler, Jennifer (Paul) Gubin, Angela Jenkins, James (Amber) Pineau, Rachel (Mike) Storch, Matthew (Megan) Gielniak and Michael Gielniak; four great-grandchildren: Adriannah Pineau, Dixie Pineau, Madison Gubin and Clare Gubin; a brother: Raymond (Ann) Gielniak; and a sister-in-law: Lillian Gielniak also survive. Robert was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Shirley, a brother: Leonard Gielniak, and a sister: Virginia Gielniak.
Friends may visit at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Roseville on Saturday, January 26, from 2:30 – 9:00 p.m. A military honor service will be held at 7:00 p.m. conducted by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 154, immediately followed by a prayer service.
