Robert “Bob” James Hilton was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1949 to James and Sally (née Lisenby) Hilton. He is a proud U.S. Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War (27th Engineer Battalion, 591st Combat Division).
Bob raised his family in Roseville with a love for the family’s second home in Port Austin. He worked for many years at A.T. Wagner in Detroit and Valiant International in Troy. After retiring, he moved to Macomb, where he resided at the time of his passing.
In addition to pouring into his family and relationships, Bob enjoyed building model cars and miniature train sets. He restored a 1979 Trans-Am and shared his love of cars with his sons. During his retirement, he participated with Walk for Wishes and did volunteer work at the Detroit Zoo.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marjorie Seitz.
Bob is survived by his cherished wife of 46 years, Diane; his children, Brad, Brian (Pamela), and Michael; his grandchildren, Ethan, Adrianna, Elijah, and Lillian; his brother, Roy Hilton; his sister, Jean (Joseph) McKinney; and many loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and siblings-in-law.
Visitation and service will occur January 28, 2022 at Kaul Funeral Home in Roseville beginning at 3pm until 8pm; service at 6pm.
