Rosalie Jean Ploplis (Ratiu) age 76, a Roseville resident for 66 years, passed away February 20, 2023. Rose was very active at her church, Mt Calvary, where she was a member for over 50 years. Singing in the choir, volunteering in the food pantry, making loving friendships and she was also honored with the Women of the Year award.
She was an Avon lady and a member of Red Hat Society. Rose was always on the go and always willing to go on a spur of the moment adventure. She enjoyed attending musicals, plays, sewing and traveling. Her favorite trip was going to Shipshewana with friends, or even by herself, multiple times each year. Rose enjoyed going up north, especially to the Upper Peninsula. She was a long time Detroit Tigers fan, catching a game whenever possible. If she wasn't in church on a summer Sunday morning, then she was most definitely spending time at Armada flea market. Rose lived life to the fullest spending time with those she loved. She enjoyed hosting all of the family gatherings and holidays at her home. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandsons, making unforgettable memories on their yearly family vacation, most recently a trip to Disney World.
Rose was a caretaker of many family members over the years, including her mother- in - law, mother and husband providing them the love and dignity that they deserved. Rose worked at Michigan Bell up until she stayed home to raise her family. She later returned to work at First American Title until retiring to care for her mother and grandsons.
Beloved wife of 49 years to the late Robert Ploplis. Loving mother to the late Robert Ploplis Jr, and Julie (Chris) Kratt. Proudest grandma of Benjamin and Evan. Dearest sister of Ralph Ratiu and the late Robert (Nancy) Ratiu and sister- in - law of Beverly (William) Woytta. Beloved aunt of many especially Robert John Ratiu, Cheryl Machleit, Joseph (Deb) Woytta, Carl (Sandy) Woytta and Amy Cherro. Special niece to Lillian Hall and many loving cousins.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave, Roseville. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 in state at 10am until time of Funeral Service 11am at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 8129 Packard Ave, Warren, MI 48089.
