Shawnie Delores Soucie, age 45, passed away on October 28, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Born in Detroit, Michigan, to James and Katherine Birch, Shawnie graduated from Anchor Bay High School. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor, strong will, and loving heart. Her personality was unforgettable, and she had a special way of bringing laughter and warmth to those around her. Family meant everything to Shawnie. She was the person who always thought ahead, making sure everyone had what they needed, whether at a family gathering, on vacation, or during life’s unexpected moments. Her attentiveness and thoughtfulness were simply part of who she was. She took great pride in looking after the people she loved and making every moment together special. Shawnie carried that same dedication into her career as a property manager, where she was much more than someone who managed properties. She genuinely cared about her residents, often going out of her way to help them through challenges and ensure they received the attention and support they deserved. Her compassion made a difference in the lives of many.
When she wasn’t caring for others, Shawnie enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, and sharing laughter with those closest to her. She appreciated life’s simple pleasures and the memories created along the way. Shawnie is survived by her loving husband, Hal Soucie; their son, Michael; her stepchildren, Brandon (Christi), Brenda (Jason), Jacquelyn (David), and Angela (Michael); her beloved grandchildren, who brought tremendous joy to her life; and her two cherished dogs, Pepper and Cujo. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Katherine Birch, and her stepson, Justin. Shawnie will be remembered for her humor, her determination, and the countless little things she did to make life better for others. Though her time with us was far too short, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain with her family and friends forever. Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten
