I have just found out about Thelma's passing.  Memories of working with Thelma at the credit union, she was an amazing, amazing person with a heart of gold.  A friend, with awesome sense of humor and this smile that was contagious.  When Thelma walked in a room, the fun began, and she made every day working with her the best.  Dear God may she be at peace.  She will always be someone that I will remember forever.

Dennis, Mike, Cindy and Arlene, Linda and I would like to express our deep sadness and offer condolences for the loss of dear Thelma. What an amazing, thoughtful, caring and lovely woman she was. I will always remember her laugh, it it the lasting memory I will treasure. She certainly doted over all her children, and she (yes Dennis) sure kept her husband in check! But she always was there for him and all the family. If there is anything Linda or I can do, please let us know. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Mom, you were the strongest most selfless person I've ever known.  The sacrifices you made and tragedies you endured attest to that.  You left your home state of Texas and your entire family you loved ever so deeply to start a family of your own with dad here in Michigan.  Then you fought through several emotional pains and tragedies along the way.  All of the ailments to your daughter Arlene.  The loss of your daughter Karen at the angelic age of only 3 years old.  Then you lost your mom (Grandma Julia) to cancer only a few years later.  Then several years after that you lost your dad (Grandpa Sam).  Yet regardless of all the loss and pain you went through you managed to stay a “half glass full” type of person.  Always seeing good where there was bad, light where there was darkness, and happiness where there was sadness.  You never made things about yourself.  Even when you were deathly ill you were more concerned about how we were doing than yourself.  The only thing you ever asked while you were sick was to feel better so you could be with your grandchildren, Caitlyn and Christopher.  Though it hurts Amy and I ever so much to lose you, the ones I feel who will be hurt the most by your loss are Caitlyn and Christopher.  They're so very young and not having such a wonderful person of your character around to nurture them in the world of today is absolutely heartbreaking.  You weren't just my mom, you were also my best friend.  You helped make me the man I am today.  Since you can't be here to help us, I just hope and pray we can do just as good with Caitlyn and Christopher as you did with me.  Give everyone our love, especially Karen.  I know you missed her the most.  We've had you for so long, now it's her to turn to be with you.  We love you with all our heart and we'll see you soon.

Rest in peace, Aunt Thelma.  I have always remembered the unrelenting patience and love you gave my cousin, Arlene - it showed me what a wonderful mother and person you were.  May your family find comfort in knowing that you are now in the care of the loved ones who have gone before you and that we will all one day be together in His loving hands.

Thelma will never know of the impact she made on my life as well as so many others. She will be truly missed and most of us can say we are who we are today because of mama ming. I will love you forever. My heart breaks for the entire family during this difficult time.

Mom, you we're my best friend, outstanding mother and a woman that taught me so many amazing things. How to love deeply and to always be me, the person I am today. Your touch and voice could heal me when I was sick and mend my heart when it was hurt, even your kisses when I got a boo boo would make the pain go away. Though we had our tiffs and got angry like any typical mother and daughter we always got through it together. Your bright brown eyes, your smile and that laugh that made everyone else laugh, a heart of solid gold and a dedicated mother and wife. Mom, even when you were sick, I'm so happy I was able to make you laugh and smile. I'm greatful that we had our movie nights and got to share the time we did. I'll always remember you saying "I don't know where you came from, I think we got the wrong kid" :-) , but me making a fool out of myself and having you laugh and smile was the greatest gift. Mom your precious, beautiful and loving nature I carry with me. You're a part of me as much as I'm a part of you! My whole heart misses you mom, I love you so very much my beautiful angel. You're embedded in my soul and tattooed in my heart. No matter where life takes me I promise I will always take you with me. Mom, I love you, I love you beyond the heavenly stars and I will miss you more than every heart could possibly cry. Mom, I know you were chosen because God needed you and to give you wings to fly and watch over us all. Spread your wings beautiful and fly, fly with Aunt Cheryl and be free.  Thelma, you are in my heart always. you have been a part of my life for so many years, a Mother-in-law in fact. I love you dearly and I promise to take care of Cindy, and make sure she's okay like I know you would want me to do. Thelma was such an amazing woman, she put a smile on every face she came in contact with. She will be missed by so many. My heart goes out to all her family and friends at this very difficult time. Dear Mingle Family, 

We were told Thelma passed away at our mother's funeral earlier this week -- (Shirley Furton passed away on Christmas).  Unfortunately, we understand your unbounded sadness at this time......no words can describe this.... 

Looking back, I remember babysitting Michael, Arlene and Cindy -- many years ago....and Thelma's lightheartedness!  May your memory of you mom and wife and the wonderful times you shared stay with you forever.
