Valerie Jean (nee Schneider) Mitchell, age 70, of Harrison Twp., MI, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 in Utica. Valerie was born in Sheboygan, WI to Delbert & Elizabeth (nee Ingebritsen) Schneider. She married Paul Mitchell May 14, 1994 in Utica.
Valerie is survived by her mother Elizabeth; daughters Kathryn (Allan) Weeks, Abigail Ostafinski & Jennifer Ostafinski; her granddaughter Annabelle; and her siblings Karl (Elizabeth) Schneider, Wendy Quenneville, Heidi (Charles) Van Becelaere & Julie (Ronald) Kent. Valerie was preceded in death by her husband Paul and her father Delbert.
Valerie was very active at her church, Trinity United Methodist, where she was the choir director for over 20 years. She also enjoyed knitting and was a lighthouse enthusiast, having traveled over the years with Paul to see nearly all of the lighthouses along the coast of Michigan.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave, Roseville, MI 48066. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 18303 Common Rd, Roseville.
