Vinny Orlando V

Vinny was a bright, honest, and deeply principled young man. Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, he moved through the world with a fierce sense of integrity and a quiet refusal to compromise who he was. He had little interest in fitting into a world that often felt dishonest and chaotic to him. Instead, he chose to illuminate the spaces he occupied — even on his final day.

On the day he left this world, Vinny showed his love in the smallest, most thoughtful ways. He fed and safely moved the family pets outside. He cleaned his room more thoroughly than he ever had before. He started his mother’s laundry so she wouldn’t have to finish it alone. He left a note for his sister instructing her to call the police rather than their mother, protecting her from further trauma. These were not the actions of despair — they were the actions of a young man who wanted to leave every space better than he found it.

Vinny graduated high school in the spring of 2026. He was on the Varsity Wrestling team, and ran track his senior year, not because he loved the spotlight, but because he knew it mattered to his father. He backed his family’s fight for truth with quiet loyalty, even when it cost him the stability he craved.

Vinny is survived by his father, Vince Orlando, his mother, Janice Hewitt, and his sister, Sofia Orlando — the three people he loved and protected until the very end. He is also survived by his loving grandparents Phil Stewart, Mary Stewart, Mark Scott, and Sandy Scott

Vinny was too good for a world that often punishes honesty. He chose to leave on his own terms rather than become something he was not. His final acts were not of giving up, but of love, principle, and care.
