I went up to Michigan a month ago and had lunch at a place on the St Claire River. I was thinking about us out night fishing the river when the freighter snuck up on us and freaked us out from the swell...I laughed to myself and had a great memory of us out having fun.

I still talk about all of the time we spent chasing ducks and fishing for walleye. Gone but your memory and my memories of all of the fun times we spent together live on. Hoping Wanda and Chris are finding some comfort.

Walleye. Teal season starts down here next week and it sure would be nice to share the blind with you and Chris again. Just know I think about you often buddy !!

I did not know Wayne for a very long period of time. …neighbors of a couple years in Manistee. Wayne always had a smile on his face and a kind hearted tone. It was always a pleasure catching up and sharing the latest neighborhood bear story. Our deepest condolences to family and friends. 

Dear Wanda and Chris, I don’t know where to begin to tell you how deeply saddened I am for your loss!  Wayne was a devoted family man with a gentle soul and loved to live life to its fullest. I think of all the memories, fun times and all the laughter we shared. There are so many that keep coming to mind. Please always remember the love he had for the both of you was so deep and unconditional. The both of you were his world ! The loss of a husband and father is one of the saddest things to go through. I pray you find peace and comfort you through this difficult time and alway remember how many people loved him and how many lives he touched in his too short life.

My heart is broken for you!  Uncle Wayne loved the both of you so much!  I will forever treasure the memories I have of him especially all the fun times we had when I would  come  stay with you all the time as a young girl and as I got older I stayed even more to help with and eventually babysit Chris  on Rutherford.   Praying that you find comfort in knowing he left so many people with wonderful memories.

Thinking of you both during this time....Uncle Wayne will be dearly missed.

Our hearts are all broken. We sure had a ton of fun out in the duck blind and out walleye fishing. "Walleye Wayne" save some fish for me up there buddy!!  You were the best friend and hunting and fishing partner I could have ever been blessed with.

I will always cherish the great memories I had with you.  You were an amazing husband and father.  These last few days everyone that I have spoken to has said the same things.. “He was an awesome guy” and they are right!  I learned a lot from you.  Thank you for always being there for Chris and myself.  Helping us fix stuff, and teaching us things that we will carry with us forever.  Until we meet again.. Love you Pops 

This past weekend was the hardest of my life. I lost the steady rock that has guided me through my lifetime.  My dad was my everything.  His leadership through life taught me all the right ways to handle things.  I don’t know if I learned every lesson he taught me, but I sure did try to be like him.  The constant messages I’ve been getting from the people that knew him is how kind, fun, and selfless he was to them.  I can say I agree with those descriptions but there are so many more.  My mother and I will always treasure the time we had with him and always question why we didn’t get more.  I’ll see you again one day Dad, so get the fishing gear ready in heaven so we can go find those Walleye.  RIP Dad!
