Albert Wayne Thompson Jr.

Albert Wayne Thompson, Jr., Alpharetta, Georgia, beloved husband, father, brother, son and friend to all; sadly passed away on Saturday, July 6th surrounded by his immediate family after suffering through a long and courageous battle with a Glioblastoma Brain Tumor at the age of 72 years old.

He is mourned by the love of his life, Joanne Karen Faer; whom he married on May 15, 1993 at The Palm Beach Hotel; his two wonderful children, Benjamin Robert (Belinda Landaverde) and Katherine Elizabeth. Also, his sister Nancy Thompson and brother Paul Thompson (Missy), niece Tyler Thompson Huddle (David), nephew, Camp Thompson, beloved great niece Davis-Mae Huddle, as well as his sister-in-law, Michele Faer Jacobs (Bob ) and nephew, Max Edward Jacobs, his mother-in-law, Ruth Faer Dry and lastly, his beloved beagle, Blue.

Wayne graduated from Memphis University with a BA in Accounting and Old Dominion University with an MBA. He served in the Navy Reserve.

Wayne was a Life-long learner, self-employed entrepreneur and “stay at home” Dad to Ben and Katie and was TRULY a man’s man- a trail- blazer for the stay-at-home dads! He was a champion Girl Scout Cookie “Mom” and top seller and was always ready to do any heavy lifting anyone would or could need. Wayne was the jack of all trades and the man with all of the answers! Not only loved by all humans he encountered but also all of his fur babies.

A master of wordsmithing and singing a jingle, Wayne’s passions included expert beer making, coffee bean roasting, financial management, day trading, car tinkering and physical fitness. He loved to develop workouts for his family. His adventurous spirit included snow and jet skiing, water sports, and running. He worked out until the very end of his life and was the strongest man you could meet until felled by a terrible disease.

Wayne never met a stranger, was always the one to ask and was always in the know.

He is missed and loved by all. All his family and friends use Wayne as a litmus test and ask themselves…. WWWD? (What Would Wayne Do?)
