

Allen was born on September 17, 1946 to A.B. “Pat” and June D. Maddox. Following graduation from Campbell High School in 1964, Allen served 4 years in the U.S. Coast Guard as Radio Operator and 4 years as Radar Operator in the U.S. Navy.
Allen was a devoted follower of Christ and feeling God’s call on his life; earned his. Masters of Divinity degree in Biblical Theology from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. His service in the Ministry brought him to work as a Doctrine & Theology Counselor in the Counseling & Correspondence Department at Dr. Charles Stanley’s InTouch Ministries in Atlanta, Georgia for 32 years. A member of First Baptist Atlanta for over 45 years, he also served as a Sunday School Teacher for most all of his years of membership there. Allen volunteered as a group leader on numerous Mission trips here in America and in Europe in Scotland, Wales, etc.
Allen loved and cherished his beloved wife, Cathy, and loved and adored her daughters Melissa & Stephanie and their families as though they were his very own. Allen believed God was first above all other things, then he was totally devoted to and loved by his sisters, Patricia, April, and the entire family.
He was a man of honesty and decency and of great character. He had a heart tug for the lost and unsaved and left a lasting legacy of witnessing to all he met; to help them to come to know God in the free pardon of sin with what Jesus did on that cross.
Allen was predeceased by his parents, A.B. “Pat” and June D. Maddox, and his brother-in-law, Lansford M. Hill. He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Cathy, and numerous cousins and other close family members.
His family will miss his presence in their lives and rejoice in knowing that he is at peace with God and is now resting in the arms of Jesus.
