Anne was born in Houston, Texas and lived most of her early life is Exton, Pennsylvania. She graduated in 1974 from Henderson High School in Exton and in 1978 from Georgia Southwestern State College with a degree in Nursing.
Anne had two distinctively different nursing careers. The first was an adult nurse, working at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta from 1981-1992. It was during that time that she met her husband to be, David. They married in 1987. Anne’s second career started with the birth of their first son, Evan, in 1989.
Evan was born medically fragile, spending the first four months of his life in Scottish Rite Hospital’s ICU. Support systems for families with medically fragile children were not available or well known at that time. Anne became a champion for such families. She became closely involved with many organizations including the Foundation for Medically Fragile Children, the Hug Center, Parent to Parent of Georgia, Scottish Rite Hospital Parent Advisory Council, and FOCUS.
After Evan passed away, Anne continued her journey at Northside Hospital. She became Parent Resource Clinician and acting director of Parents Partnered for Preemies, a service organization founded in 2002 that provided support to families of babies residing in the Special Care Nursery. Hundreds of families experienced her love and compassion. Anne changed countless lives for the better.
Anne is preceded in death by her son, Evan and her father, Harold B. Davies. She is survived by her husband, David; son, Sean, daughter, Emily (Jonathon) Horseman; mother, Shirley S. Davies, brother, Chris (Kim) Davies, and grandchildren, Paxton and Evan Horseman.
A graveside ceremony will be held September 29, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell, Georgia. Due to the pandemic, attendees are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
