Barbara Ann Clark

Milton, Georgia- Barbara Ann Foley Clark passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at home surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 13, 1931 in Portland, Maine to Philip J. and Annie Conley Foley, who hailed from Galway, Ireland. Barbara was deeply proud of her Irish heritage and carried that pride with her throughout her life. She treasured the stories, music and strong family bonds that were so much a part of her Irish roots. Her large family was one of her life’s greatest blessings and she made sure those traditions were passed down to the generations who followed her.

She was a communicant of Saint Dominic‘s Catholic Church where she attended grammar school. In 1949 she graduated from Cathedral High School and began working for the Portland Press Herald newspaper. She then flew with American Airlines as a stewardess for several years and enjoyed traveling to many destinations. While in New York, she met the love of her life, James Lee Clark of Gulfport, Mississippi. Jim was attending The United States Merchant Marine Academy. They were married on September 1, 1956 in Portland and were blissfully married for 55 years. Jim‘s job took the family to many locations, including New York, Puerto Rico, New Jersey, Louisiana and Georgia. No matter where they were living, Barbara always made sure to travel back to Maine every summer to see her family.

Barbara’s Catholic faith was the foundation of her life. Her faith guided the way she raised her family, served others, faced life’s challenges and celebrated its blessings. She found particular comfort in prayer, Mass, the Rosary and attending her small faith group at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, where she was a member for nearly forty years.

Barbara enjoyed cheering on Notre Dame’s football team and watching British murder mysteries, always while savoring some chocolate. Above all, Barbara was a devoted mother and Mimi. Her greatest joy was watching her children and grandchildren grow, attending their events, and she was endlessly proud of the people they became. She was the heart of her family and they will forever cherish all of the wonderful memories of her.

She was predeceased by her husband Jim and her siblings and their wives, Mary Foley, Bartley J.(Sylvia) Foley, Martin A. (Dorothy), Philip P. (Theresa), Joseph L. (Gertrude), Peter M. (Lenora), James L. Foley, four nephews, Kevin B. Foley, Michael J. Foley, Martin A. Foley, and Philip J. Foley. She is survived by her brother John J. Foley and her children Carol A. Clark, Patricia M. Clark, James L Clark Jr., Anne Marie Salamone (Vincenzo), Philip F. Clark (Nancy), Alexandra Clark Burris (Christopher), and Christian B. Clark (Julia).

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kerrie Salamone, Stephanie Graves (Ronald), Ernesto Salamone (Kimberly Moore), Maria Quattrucci (Frankie), Juliana Salamone (Nicholas Volger), Raffaele Salamone (Jillian), Colin Clark, Claire Clark, Aidan Burris and Caitlyn Burris and her great-grandchildren Francesca Salamone, Vincenzo Quattrucci, Josephine Graves, Francis Quattrucci, Antonia Quattrucci and one due in spring 2027.

The family will receive guests at Roswell Funeral Home at 950 Mansell Road in Roswell, Georgia from 5 pm-8pm on Thursday, October 1. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at 535 Rucker Road in Alpharetta, Georgia at 10 am on Friday, October 2. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul charity in her memory.
