When I think of Bernardette, the first word I think of is Sister. I worked with her for several years, but it never felt like "just" a working relationship. As I listened to the comments and memories at the service today, it was apparent that she was a Sister to so many others in every facet of her life. Bernardette is - not was - a role model. Full of life, love, and positive energy. I already miss seeing her smiling face, hearing her sharp and wisdom-filled comments. I leave you with a few scriptures that have brought me comfort during times like this:

2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 - Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God.

John 5: 28, 29 - Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.

Bernardette's legacy is full of "good things." I look forward to seeing her again during the resurrection, in perfect health and with all of that bubbly personality we have all come to know and love!

My dearest condolences. Bernadette made an impact on everyone she met. She was the chair for LexisNexis Women Connected when I started with the company and was a such a force for empowerment. Whether I saw her in the hallway or at the gym, I loved to see her smile and get her advice. She will be very missed and wonderfully celebrated.

Bernardette was my friend and my mentor. She would light up any room she entered. Her laugh was contagious. She had a way of bringing people together that can not be taught. I am a better person for having known Bernardette and the world is a better place. Her spirit will live on through her family and all of those whose lives she touched. My thoughts are with Clarence, Kadri, Kira and the rest of the family. I can see Bernardette now riding off into the sunset on her motorcycle leaving a trail of laughter and love behind her for all of us. We love you Bernardette.
