Betty Claire Wansley Morris, of Roswell, Georgia, returned to her heavenly home on March 28, 2026. She was 96. Betty was born August 7, 1929, in Carnesville, Georgia, to Herbert and Perth Wansley. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1950 and moved to Atlanta, where she worked as a social worker for the Fulton County Department of Welfare and later for Electrolux Corporation.
She married her husband, Joab Johnson (Joe) Morris, in 1965 and devoted herself to caring for her family and raising their two daughters, Jane and Mary. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures — creating a welcoming home, traveling, gardening, reading, and cooking for those she loved.
Over her long and beautiful life, her abiding faith was her constant guide. It, along with her quiet determination, unshakable strength and deep joy, will remain inspirations to her loved ones. A beloved daughter and wife, precious mother and grandmother, and dear sister and friend, Betty treasured and nurtured each of her relationships. Her selflessness, grace, and love touched all who knew her.
She is now reunited for eternity with her parents, her two sisters, Polly and Geneva, and her husband, Joe. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jane Morris and Mary Morris Largent; her son-in-law, Mike Largent; and her adored grandchildren, Catherine, Meredith, and John.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church home, First Baptist Church Roswell (fbroswell.org).
