Bobby Charles Bates, 69 of Hiram Georgia departed this life on June 20, 2013. Bobby was born in Tallapoosa Georgia on June 21, 1943, he was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Grace Holcombe Bates. Bobby was a Vietnam Vetran in the United Stated Marine Corp, he received the purple heart serving his country. Bobby is survived by his wife of 45 years Roseann Bates; Son Bobby Bates; duaghter and son in law Nancy Marie and Dave Wilson; sisters, Mary Ann Reeves, Joanne Payne and Nell Puckett,; Grandchildren, Tiffani Wainwright, Megan Wainwright, Jacob Dennehy, Victoria Hoerl, Andrew Bates, Samuel Bates, David Jr, and Chris Wilson and one great grandchild, Owen Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Holy transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery with full Military Honorrs. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 until 9:00 PM at Roswell Funeral Home
