Bruce Gregory Weber, 76, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2025.
Born on April 3, 1949, in Oak Park, Illinois, Bruce was the son of the late Robert and Vivian Weber. He grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois, where he attended St. James Catholic School, there he served as an altar boy. In the seventh grade, while attending South Junior High School, he met the love of his life and future wife, Kathi.
Bruce was a standout athlete at Arlington Heights High School, excelling in both football and baseball. His talent on the gridiron earned him a full football scholarship to the University of Nebraska, where he was part of two National Championship teams and graduated with a degree in business.
Following his college career, Bruce started a successful flooring business that continues to operate today.
A man of humor and a loving "teddy bear" to his family, Bruce was their undisputed "VIP." He was known for his hard work and stubborn streak, qualities that served him well in life and in business. He enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including grilling, golfing, tennis, poker, swimming, boating, and biking, but most cherished was the time he spent with his beloved family.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 54 wonderful years, Kathi; his children, Lisa Calnan (Paul), Jeff Weber (Brianna), and Joe Weber (Theresa); his grandchildren, Madeline and Christina; his granddogs, Parker, Willow, Annabell, and Charlie; and his siblings, Bob, Cathy, and Mark.
A private service will be held for the family. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Marietta, Georgia, at a later date. Those who wish to send flowers may do so. They can be delivered to Roswell Funeral Home by 12:00PM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Nebraska Greats Foundation, a charitable organization that provides financial assistance to former Nebraska collegiate athletes who are facing medical and financial challenges. Donations can be made online at https://nebraskagreatsfoundation.org/get-involved/donate.html or mailed to the address provided on their website.
